1. General information
The subject and its expected results respond to the following approaches and objectives: The students should know the serigraphic processes and solve them at a technical level.
Upon completion of the subject, the student should be able to:
Master drawing, form and colour in multiple serigraphy.
Master the serigraphic processes and their edition. Deepen personal creativity through these media. Have a historical background. Know classical and current artists, conceptual analysis.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), so that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goals 6, 11 and 12.
The subject is framed within the context of drawing, working on the techniques as a transversal means, as an end in itself and as a definitive work.
The typology of the subject considers teaching as workshop practice. The student will be responsible for the order and cleanliness of the common and personal materials. It is recommended that the student takes care of the facilities, common classroom tools, working machinery, screen printing tables and their own materials, and contributes to the cleanliness and general tidiness of the workshop.

END-OF-TERM WORK: Interrelation of techniques, with dominance of serigraphy.
Application of contents taught in the term to personal graphic work.
4. Academic activities
The learning process designed for this subject is based on theory and daily practice. Application of each of the contents to the expression of personal work.
Theoretical classes where the teacher exposes the techniques in a gradual way. The teacher gives a practical demonstration of each process, supported by projections of digital images and original prints. The student must apply the exposed techniques to their personal plastic work. Specific images of all the techniques are projected, original prints and books with works by different artists where the processes are used are shown.
Theoretical developments through sources, artists and museums.
Individual tutorials and specific monographic seminars.
The teaching will be composed of three types of instruments:
Materials, Bibliography and New Technologies.
Materials. For each practical demonstration of each process, a list will be created with the material to be used. Theoretical teaching support material with detailed explanations of drawing/engraving processes and techniques. Original graphic material to present results.
Engraving - original prints, digital images and reproductions.
Bibliography Bibliographic references specific to the technique; drawing and engraving.
- New technologies: Teaching accompanied by projections, new technologies and multimedia material. Resources and needs. Power point, videos and multimedia material. As appropriate.
The teaching-learning methodology and the types of activities to be developed during the subject are considered. This should facilitate the students' achievement of the expected results. It must be coherent with the previous sections and must comply with the approaches set forth in the Verification Report.
5. Assessment system
Type of tests and their value on the final grade and evaluation criteria for each test
Students should be aware of the plagiarism regulations of the University of Zaragoza published in:
https://biblioteca.unizar.es/propiedad-intelectual/propiedad-intelectual-plagio
Likewise, they must be familiar with the Regulation of Learning Assessment Standards approved by agreement of December 22, 2010, of the University's Governing Council:
http://cud.unizar.es/docs/ReglamentodeNormasdeEvaluaciondelAprendizaje.pdf
The student must demonstrate achievement of the intended learning results through the following assessment activities:
- Continuous assessment of the exercises or official final exam.
- Students who do not attend class regularly or do not submit all the exercises will not be eligible for continuous assessment In order to pass the training contents of the subject, it is necessary to attend classes and to do continuous practical work under the supervision of the teacher during the academic year.
- Benchmark ratings will be published quarterly. Continuous assessment by year, quarterly and annual evaluation of the stamps.
- The assessment will be based on both technical and formal knowledge acquired.
- The progress in personal expressiveness will be valued from the graphic media in the different techniques and processes.
The practical delivery will not be evaluated if the student does not attend the theoretical session.
The teaching process is carried out on a classroom basis. A large number of the workshop sessions are practical, so class attendance is mandatory in order to be able to perform and present them. Students who do not attend class or have missed 8 or more classes without a justified reason will lose the right to continuous assessment and must pass the final theoretical/practical test, which will be held in May/June.
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT SYSTEM
A calendar of periodic deliveries is established throughout the term as a continuous assessment system that will include the delivery of practical work done in class corresponding to the different printing techniques worked on. As the grade obtained by this process will refer to the total of the subject, the student will have the possibility of passing it with the maximum grade.
In order for a student to be assessed, they must hand in the stamps of all the techniques, must attend the workshop practices and theory classes punctually, and must respect other students and maintain the order and cleanliness of the facilities.
The main assessment criteria to pass the subject are based on attitude, technique, printing, drawing and punctual delivery of work:
ATTITUDE: The development of the student's autonomous work for the application in the practical workshop sessions is especially valued. The student will have to use hours of autonomous work to prepare the image so they can continue the work in the workshop.
Attendance to the complete sessions is valued, with punctuality at the beginning and end of the theoretical and practical sessions.
Cleanliness and care of the workshop machinery, classroom order, care of materials, tools, respect for classmates and class participation are valued.
It accounts for 35 % of the grade.
TECHNIQUE: Knowledge and creation of serigraphy, understanding. Skills, dexterity, mastery and technical progress. Adequacy of the results to the proposals and techniques. Carry out the exercises in the workshop based on the approaches developed in the student's autonomous work.
The development and procedural research carried out will be valued.
It accounts for 25 % of the grade.
ESTAMP: Evaluation of formal aspects of serigraphy. Clean, unblemished, well-cut paper. Printed with register. Presentation, nomenclature, quality of representation and quality of printing. Degree of complexity and resolution of the exercises.
It accounts for 20 % of the grade.
DRAWING: Plastic quality of the work and the search for what is represented.
Personal contribution, conceptual maturity, originality and creativity.
It accounts for 20 % of the grade.
Thus, the following grading percentages are established:
ATTITUDE: (35 % of the grade)
- Technique, 25 %
- Stamp, 20 %
- Drawing, 20 %
All these factors analysed in class and made known to the students are sufficient factors to be able to make a critical judgment at the end of the term.
The overall test will consist of a theoretical-practical exam including short and essay questions as well as a practical part related to the techniques worked throughout the term. The practical part will evaluate the knowledge of the technique (35%), printing (35%) and drawing (30%).
_______
GLOBAL TEST
All students are entitled to a global test to pass the subject or to improve the grade obtained Students attending the exam must be punctual on the day and at the time indicated in the exam notice otherwise they will be considered as "No Show".
SECOND CALL
The evaluation in the second call, to which all students who have not passed the subject will be entitled, will be carried out by means of a global test to be taken during the period established for this purpose by the Governing Council in the academic calendar
